Summary/Abstract: Emerging in a period marked by changes, melodrama appears as a response to the loss of the tragic vision specific to the modern era, where truth and morality are questioned. In a society where classical tragedy no longer finds its place, melodrama becomes the way of expressing feelings, which now prevails. Thus, melodrama is a genre with a deeply theatrical character, which exposes its moral through scenery, gestures, and sounds.
