Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the minimum wage, the regulatory framework for its determination in Bulgaria and the European Union, as well as the main arguments "for" and "against" the application of this mechanism. The study employs theoretical analysis, a comparative approach, and a review of empirical research. In conclusion, the main economic and social effects of the minimum wage policy and the future challenges facing the Bulgarian labor market are outlined.
