Summary/Abstract: The paper examines both the “official”, formal ideology of the Macedo-nian-Adrianople movement and Gotse Delchev’s own views, insofar as there is a sign of equality between them. The study focuses on the unofficial, unannounced, but equally real ultimate strategic goal of the revolutionary struggle. The author analyzes the relationship and the nature of the relationship between autonomy and irredentism as points of view (wishes) for the fate of Macedonia and the Adrianople region: independence and develop-ment towards a separate statehood and even becoming the core of a Balkan Federation or unification with the “mother country”, the Principality of Bulgaria. The life work of Gotse Delchev, of his associates and of the Internal Organization in general, in its entire ideolog-ical spectrum, as well as in all Macedonian-Adrianople organizations, during the wars for national unification confirmed, without leaving any doubt, the well-known truth that the idea of autonomy was a tactic of the liberation struggles of Macedonia.
