Summary/Abstract: In this paper we have shown that narrative techniques are a dynamic category that follows the perceptive reflexes of information users, whose range of attention requires short forms and attractive content transmitters. Due to the development of digital culture, the attention span is reduced, so didactic and presentation techniques get new models. To that extent, interactive digital storytelling, which is realized through Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies, is proposed as an effective way of transmitting historical and museological information. On the example of the “Trebinje Fortress VR” project, we presented aspects of contemporary museography, from the possibility of a virtual presentation (VR - Virtual Reality), through the introduction of a creative narrative model, through the presence of real historical figures, and up to gaming elements in the interactive structure of the presentation. The project “Trebinje Fortress VR” opens up a wide field of possibilities and ambitions to display and make attractive other fortifications, as well as all kinds of cultural monuments, using this methodology. The evaluation of the user experience confirms the success of the presented methodology.
