Summary/Abstract: This study explores the foundations of New Testament economic ethics through an exegesis of selected texts from the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles as a contribution to the theological framework for Christian entrepreneurship in Slovakia. By analyzing key narratives – such as the Rich Fool, the Rich Man and Lazarus, and the incident of Ananias and Sapphira – the article examines the transformation of personal values and social responsibility. The author identifies a distinct „Lucan piety“ – few ethical implications – integrated with economic activities. It is presented in two areas: 1) ethical context and 2) ethical principles. For example, the research highlights the „paradox of ownership,“ where private property is respected yet strictly subordinated to the service of God and neighbor. Ultimately, the study presents an „eschatological hope“ that challenges the illusion of earthly wealth as a primary security, advocating for a lifestyle characterized by being „rich toward God“.
