Summary/Abstract: The article highlights the importance of studying the epistolary legacy of Ukrainian musicologist, medievalist, and conductor Myroslav Antonovych, which provides valuable insights into the creation of the “Sunday Troparia”cycle by Ukrainian composer Zynoviy Lys’ko. The extensive correspondence between the two artists sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the composition, intended for performance by the Byzantine Choir under Antonovych’s direction. At the same time, the letters reveal the challenges they faced regarding melodic intonation and the poetic interpretation of this liturgical genre, which occupies a central place in the sacred repertoire of the Ukrainian Church.
