Facing the essence of humanity. The Prometheus motif in selected works of the 19th and 20th centuries

Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to the motivations of the Titan Prometheus in helping people and his attitudetowards the earthlings. Attempts were also made to capture the ssence of humanity presentedby Aeschylos, Adolf Dygasiński, Jerzy Andrzejewski, Władysław Kozicki, Zbigniew Herbert andAndrzej Niemojewski, the writings of authors who divide thousands of years. Presenting the conclusions,theoretical assumptions of comparative mythography, comparative studies or research onthe sacred (ecumenical method) were used.
