Summary/Abstract: The study examines two architectural elements documented in the second half of the 20th century. Both samples have fulfilled a framing function, while the principal differences between them pertain to the sculptural approach. The artifact from Dionysopolis was secondarily re-carved and was transformed into a mullion during the Еarly Byzantine period. The other was discovered in the context of the medieval monastery on St. Ivan Island, where it most likely also served as a spolium.
