Summary/Abstract: This article explores the use of quantitative methods in analysing political discourse on social media. The study focuses on tweets published by official political party accounts on Twitter during the first six months following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The primary objective was to identify the main topics, discourse actors, and values present in political messages related to the armed conflict, as well as to reconstruct the structure and dynamics of the discourse. The analysis included a combination of quantitative techniques, including frequency analysis, named entity recognition, topic modelling with the LDA algorithm, and semantic analysis based on a large language model (LLM). This methodological approach allowed for the identification of dominant themes and their evolution over time, offering deeper insights into the complexity of the discourse. The study serves as an example of how natural language processing (NLP) tools can be applied to the analysis of contemporary political communication.
