Summary/Abstract: This paper describes application of psychodrama psychotherapy while working with elderly people. The aim of the paper is to present the possibilities and challenges of psychotherapy work with elderly people, with a special emphasis on psychodrama psychotherapy. The theoretical part describes findings from the literature regarding the characteristics of old age, group therapy and psychodrama with elderly people. The practical part summarizes, with a review of the facts stated in the theory, experiences from many years of therapeutic work with elderly clients, in group and individual therapeutic settings. Methodologically, the paper is based on an experiential approach through many years of work in individual and group psychotherapy. Psychodrama work with elderly people, both in groups and individually, is characterized by a slow start and a long establishment of trust, but also a strong emotional charge, a hunger for listening and understanding, the need for a safe space and a relationship that will achieve the desired therapeutic change.
