Summary/Abstract: The Republic of Bulgaria, as an external border for the European Union, is faced with the responsibility of countering the movement of illegal migrants through our country. Illegal migration has no legal concept. It is a process that covers the commission of crimes under the Criminal Code and the commission of administrative violations under the Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria. Illegal migration is viewed by criminology as a negative, mass, social phenomenon that is subject to prevention and control.
