Summary/Abstract: The review consists of a discussion of the content and an assessment of the practical applicability of a book that contains a systematic and synthetic presentation of research content and results on various aspects and problems of the acquisition of Danish, Swedish and Norwegian as a second/foreign language. The publication consists of a foreword, an introduction, the main text, a bibliography, a list of abbreviations and an index. The main part comprises six chapters devoted to presenting the state of research in the field of the individual subsystems of the Scandinavian languages. Chapter 2 contains a discussion of publications and their findings with regard to the phonetics of the languages. The contributions on the acquisition of words and word groups are the subject of discussion in Chapter 3. The topic of Chapter 4 focuses on syntactic issues. The content of Chapter 5 consists of a presentation of the state of research on vocabulary acquisition. Chapter 6 formulates didactic implications for teachers and learners based on the findings of the publications discussed. Since the Polish publishing market still does not offer any contributions on the subject of didactics for teaching Scandinavian languages, this monograph is important and necessary because it fills this gap to a certain extent.
