Summary/Abstract: The study follows previous research in the field of Serbian dialect lexicography in Montenegro and gives a synthetic overview and description of dialect dictionaries, published in the period from Vuk’s Dictionary (1852) to the present day. Special attention is given to the classification of dictionaries, based on two criteria: 1. according to the type of material (general dialect, terminological and dictionaries of borrowed words) and 2. according to the volume of the material (monographs and vocabulary contributions of smaller volume). At the end follows a classification according to dialects (dictionaries from the area of Herzegovina- Krajina /Eastern Herzegovinian/ and Zeta-Sjenica dialect), as well as the bibliography of the described dialect dictionaries from the Montenegro area.
