On the phraseology of odkleić się, odklejać się od rzeczywistości as an expression of a person’s mental state

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present several new lexical units (phraseologisms and single lexemes) in contemporary Polish. The authors, using the structuralist and pragmalinguistic paradigms, present the mechanism of the emergence in Polish at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries of the phrases odkleić się, odklejać się od rzeczywistości, odklejenie się od rzeczywistości i odklejony od rzeczywistości (also with variant components od świata, od życia, od ramy), and then the contextual independence of the verb odkleić się – odklejać się in the meaning ‘to have problems with sensible reasoning; to behave strangely, irrationally; to live in illusions’. They also discuss the productivity of this neosemantism as a derivational base for the originally youthful, and today colloquial noun word formations: odklejka (and from this odkleja), odklejony (effect of substantivization), odklejeniec and odklejus.
