Summary/Abstract: Sports volunteers participate in events of various sizes, performing multiple activities. They provide help to ensure the good organization of the competitions, the collaboration with athletes, delegations, journalists, spectators, and accompanying teams, as well as their wellbeing during sports competitions and in their free time, etc. Although the topic of volunteering in sports, including at the Olympic Games, is widely covered in foreign-language literature, it has been poorly researched in Bulgaria. This text aims to contribute to filling these gaps by presenting some current forms of volunteering in sports in the country, and the motivations for Bulgarians to volunteer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games or at other sports events in the country and/or abroad.
