Summary/Abstract: The following article outlines the reasons for self-assessment and the prerequisites for implementing self-evaluation in practice. Different forms of self-evaluation are also the subject of research. The prerequisites that instructors should create to foster the development of self-evaluation skills are also considered. Examples of "can-do" statements from textbooks and practical experience are provided
