Summary/Abstract: The objective of this article was: Examining the risk factors for criminogenicity and EG and KG, i.e. factors that reflect psychiatric health care for the occurrence of criminogenic recidivism in persons with mental illnesses & Examining the existence of a risk for criminogenic recidivism The examined group consisted of the total number of patients hospitalized due to criminal behavior and treated at the Psychiatric Hospital in Demir Hisaru and on whom, at the request of the court, a psychiatric examination was performed (sample size N=100). All patients were divided into an experimental group (EG) ("case") and a control group ("control") (CG). The experimental group (N=40) was observed by patients who had a relapse of criminogenic behavior, more than one criminogenic episode, and the control group (N=60) who had only one criminogenic episode. All patients had a psychiatric diagnosis based on the ICD-10 classification. Only male patients were examined, because criminal behavior is more common in men than in women. Both groups of patients were matched according to characteristics: o Risk factors for recidivism in childhood crime (years of education, problems in schooling, socioeconomic status, criminal behavior of parents, separation of parents, alcohol abuse of parents, psychiatric problems of parents, excluded from school, arrested before the age of 16.) o Risk factors for recidivism in adulthood (long-term schooling, deviant sexual interests, previously reported criminal behavior, alcohol abuse and abuse of psychoactive substances, aggressive behavior, history of criminal behavior, history of violent crime behavior, never established marriage, etc., reproductive problems.) There is a significant difference in the results of the risk factor for criminality in childhood in two groups, i.e. in the control group (CG) it is higher in relation to the case group (EG). A statistically significant difference was found in the mean values and the results obtained by determining the diagnosis according to ICD-10 classifications based on the risk factor of criminogenicity in childhood and in adulthood in the case (EG) and control (CG) groups. There is a significant difference between the risk factor of recidivism in childhood and in adulthood in determining diagnoses according to ICD-10 classifications in case (EG) and control (CG) groups. Our research indicates that all risk factors in adulthood significantly influence recidivism. Criminal behavior does not often occur in women. It is occur mostly in man. We conclude that there is a significant difference between the risk factor of recidivism in childhood and the risk factor of recidivism in adulthood in diagnoses according to ICD-10 classifications in EG.
