Summary/Abstract: This study delves into the concept of the “inner self” in Augustine by examining the inner life of being as an exercise of returning to oneself. It defines inner self as a divine space where the questioning Word of the Inner Master is expressed. The inner self is thus an intangible place of encounter and exchange, defined by one’s own space that allows itself to be joined by the indwelling Word, which never departs.
