Summary/Abstract: Drooling is a common symptom observed in children with cerebral palsy (CP). It may lead to medical complications, social and emotional difficulties, and a reduced quality of life for both the child and their caregivers. This review article presents the current state of knowledge regarding the causes, consequences, and treatment options for drooling in children with CP, with a particular focus on speech and language therapy as a key component of nonpharmacological intervention. Pharmacological and surgical approaches are also discussed, along with the importance of individualised therapy and interdisciplinary collaboration. Given the limited number of publications addressing this issue in Polish pedagogical and speechlanguage literature, this article may serve as a starting point for further research and deeper reflection on effective support for children with CP and excessive drooling.
