Summary/Abstract: Istria, as a Croatian and Adriatic peninsula, has been a blend of various ethnic communities for years. For centuries, the coexistence of Croats, Slovenes, Italians, and numerous minorities in Istria has beenwell-known. Today, Croatians make up 75% of the population, while minorities constitute 25%. These 25% consist of Italian, Serbian, Bosniak, Albanian, Slovenian, Roma and others. The total number of Bosniaks in Istria, according to the 2021 census, was 4,838. Currently, there are 7 cultural and artistic associations active in Istria: KUD Bosna (Pula), Bosanski behar (Pula), BKUD Vodnjan (Vodnjan), KUD Đulistan (Labin), BKUD Kršanski ljiljani (Kršan), FS Buzetski biseri (Buzet) and NZBI Istarske gondže (Pula). The oldest, the National Bosniak Community of Istria, has been operating in the Istrian region for 25 years. This review paper presents the Bosniak cultural associations in the Istrian Region. The methods of classification, fieldwork, interviews, heuristics and synthesis will be used in writing this paper. Their cultural activities, particularly music (singing, playing instruments, dancing), repertoire nurturing their culture, and customs, will be classified. The aim of this paper is to document the current state as a foundation for future research.
