MODERN METHODS OF RESEARCH IN ARCHAEOLOGY. GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY OF THE OBJECTS “MISHKOVA NIVA” AND “GRADISHTE”, MALKO TARNOVO MUNICIPALITY

Summary/Abstract: The geophysical survey was carried out by Daniel Pantov, director of the Historical museum of Primorsko. The survey is performed by a memorandum of Cooperation in the field of the development of cultural tourism and museum work, between the municipalities of Malko Tarnovo and Primorsko. The scientific objectives of the survey were localization of structures and registering anomalies. The geophysical equipment is owned by HM – Primorsko and has the following specifications: brand manufacturer “MALA”, antennas 160 and 450 MHz with integrated JPS.Object “Mishkova niva”. As a result of data processing of the georadar profiles at a depth of 3.00 – 3.50 m in the Central, Northeastern and Northwestern part of the object were localized voids of irregular shape and dimensions. (Fig. 1.2).Object “Gradishte”. In the space between the flooded galleries, at a depth of 18 m, establish the presence of a metallic object approximately 0.40/0.40 m with proper form. The subject was localized in the spiral gallery, which was flooded at the moment. (Fig. 3). On the basis of the stones, mining in the area is connect with the extraction of iron and copper ore. In the area of the galleries are detected fragments of a black garnet, which is proof of its extraction through I – III AD.
