Summary/Abstract: This article explores the necessity, obstacles, and strategic environment of German security commitments for Ukraine. As a pivotal issue in the ongoing RussianUkrainian war, security commitments for Ukraine are part of a broader puzzle of restructuring the European security architecture. Germany plays an exceptionally important role in the process, both due to its leadership in the EU, and because of the country’s own historic experience in strategic security cooperation.
