Summary/Abstract: Article provides a comprehensive description of the Serbian dialect spoken in the mountain village of Vrbicane near Prizren, examining its historical development, demographic changes, and linguistic structure within the broader dialectal landscape of the region. It traces the village’s history from medieval times through Ottoman records to its depopulation after 1999, highlighting migrations, local traditions, and the cultural significance of the community, whose Serbian population no longer resides there. The study offers a detailed phonological, morphological, and syntactic analysis of the dialect, situating it in relation to neighboring speech types and preserving it as an important linguistic and cultural record after the displacement of its speakers.
