Summary/Abstract: This study presents the results of a study conducted in four schools situated in the rural area in Caraș-Severin country, Romania. The purpose of the study is to raise awareness on the role of children’s literature in teaching English as a foreign language in Romanian middle schools, as many coursebooks used since 2010 no longer encourage teachers to use literature in EFL courses. The study that we have conducted is part of a larger PhD. thesis that proposes the reintroduction of children’s literature in teaching EFL in Romanian middle schools.
