Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author focuses on the joy of being chosen from among many people and sent to preach the Good News. Starting with the biblical meaning of “sent”, he aims to demonstrate the foundation of true joy in the life of a missionary, who is a person, man or woman, chosen by God to cooperate with Him in the mission of salvation. Thus, the missionary participates in the central aspect of the Church’s existence. This must be done in the spirit of Christ, who is love and it concerns every baptized person. There is a common journey of the people through the circumstances of life and mutual enrichment. This happens in different situations. This reflection makes is clearer that the joy of the sent does not depend on external factors of achievement or success understood in human terms. It is the constant awareness that the initiative belongs to God and that He has always been with His people. The missionary lives in an interior joy that comes from the fact of being united with Christ, chosen without any merit by Him and made as His collaborator in God’s mission in the world.
