From risk measurement to security assessment – intelligent transformation in the corporate analysis methodology

Summary/Abstract: The security is a dynamic balance between factors to achieve a given result. It summarizes a person's individual perceptions and thinking about the realization of specific goals under more than one development option. It combines data from quantitative measurement of the risk with subjective interpretations of them. Against this background, risk itself is explained as a function of the lack of absolute control over the conditions and circumstances both in the corporate organization and in the surrounding environment. It is classified into investment, financial and business risk, and can be unambiguously and reliably measured by known methods and models. Risk creates uncertainty, but is not identified with it, because the latter also includes the irrationality of the subject. It suggests upgrading the methodology of corporate analysis in the direction of knowledge, experience, intuition, and communications of the individual/stakeholders. In this case, probabilistic and deterministic measurements are improved by implementing tools based on fuzzy set and fuzzy logic. Indicators and systems are developed capable of processing and logically interpreting assessment of risk factors and their consequences. As a result, conventional measurement is being improved towards intelligent assessment. Risk data is transformed into security information.
