Summary/Abstract: The report presents the problems and the challenges facing the introduction of the artificial intelligence in the hotel and restaurant sector. There were used the results of a survey of employed employees in the hotel and restaurant sector in the Devin municipality, conducted in the period March-April 2024, regarding their own knowledge and skills, their attitudes and concerns regarding digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence, for the conclusions, as well as the personal opinion and observations of the author. The aim of the survey is to establish how familiar the organizations and their employees are with the current trends in digitization and the introduction of the artificial intelligence, as well as to what extent the employees have knowledge, skills and training needs in this area, and whether they feel threatened by artificial intelligence. Nowadays, we observe how technological innovations and artificial intelligence support the activities of the people and partially seize some specific activities. The success, and even the survival, of a modern organization depends on how competitive it is, and this largely depends on the usage of modern technologies and artificial intelligence. The analysis of the problems and challenges for the introduction of the artificial intelligence in this important sector for our country aims to give a clearer idea of the differences between the management's expectations and the real situation, and on this basis, are given possible solutions to overcome the obstacles.
