Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to the biography and literary achievements of Henryk Salz, a lawyer, poet, writer and translator of literary works from Russian and German. Born as Markus Herman Salz in 1881 in Stanisławów (then Galicia in Austria-Hungary, now Ivano- Frankivsk, Ukraine), he graduated from law at Lviv University and worked as a lawyer in Horodenka, Przemyśl and Krynica. He wrote about a thousand poetic works, several novels and novellas, and translated over a dozen novels into Polish. He also wrote under the literary pseudonyms Campanella, Marian Żalicki and Dr. H. Sawicz.
