Teaching and Scientific Activity of Marian Wachowski (1903–1970) in the Interwar Period at the University of Poznań and at the Catholic Social School In Poznań

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the fi gure of Marian Wachowski (1903–1970), one of the lesser–known educators of the 20th century. His didactic and scientifi c work was connected before the war with the universities of Wielkopolska: the University of Poznań and the Catholic Social School (Higher Catholic Social Study), and later with the University of the Western Lands, the University of Agriculture in Poznań, the University of Wrocław and the Pedagogical University in Opole. The aim of the article is to extend selected threads from the fi rst years of the pedagogue’s didactic and scientifi c work, which had a direct impact on his life and scientifi c choices during the war and in the period of People’s Poland. The publication uses archival documents and printed sources, including materials not yet referred to in scientifi c publications.
