Social Carers and Social Welfare Commissions in the Konin Poviat of the Interwar Period

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the activity of social workers and the social welfare commission in the Konin poviat in the last years of the interwar period (1935-1939). An attempt was made to answer the questions about the number of social workers and social welfare commissions in individual communes; the scale of social involvement in this honorary activity, the real support possibilities of the surveyed communes, the functioning of procedures related to the provision of benefits. Moreover, the profiles of some social activists engaging in the work of these bodies were presented.
