Summary/Abstract: Folklore or folk culture is one of the main features that form the linguistic and cultural fundamentals of a nation. Each nation has its own unique characteristics carried over the centuries to the present day. The folk culture of the Turkish population in Bulgaria is understudied although it can be said that huge work has been done in the search and collection of customs, traditions and folk art by intellectuals, researchers and scientists who have left valuable material for study and research. In this study, we suggest a periodization of the studies of Turkish folklore in Bulgaria and highlight points of research related to the customs, traditions and folk art of the Turkish population .
