Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present three books by three German authors with very similar illustrations to the titles – on a yellow background. This is what the books have in common, but only at first glance. Behind the similar yellow illustrations, interesting facts are revealed about three German-language authors of fiction, about their work and about the works selected here. The study can be used for classes in children's German literature, as a teaching aid for translation from German to Bulgarian, as a model for illustrating children's books, for the purposes of teaching a foreign language – both for children and adults.
