Moral guidance of Romanian soldiers by the Military clergy in World War II, under the Direction of the military Bishop Dr. Partenie Ciopron, as Reported in the Magazine "Arma Cuvântului" (July 1941-June 1942)

Summary/Abstract: This study is presenting an important period from the life of the Military Clergy fromRomanian Army. Bishop PhD Partenie Ciopron was one of the three bishops of the MilitaryClergy Inspectorate in the Romanian Army. Through the pastoral visits made to the existingunits throughout the country, through the discussions held with the soldiers of all ranks,through the sermons full of enthusiasm, through the serious ness and involvement required of the military priests, Bishop PhD Partenie Ciopron won the trust of all categories of soldiers. He managed to print the magazine ʺArma Cuvântuluiʺ for guidance of the military clergy and for the presentation of the activity of the subordinate clergy in society, considering the fact that the only means of advertising were the radio and the written press.
