Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the levels of burnout syndrome among police officers. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) test was administered to 45 police officers from different units related to the police services of Burgas district. Respondents were compared by gender, unit of work, age and reasons for choosing the profession and mean (X), standard deviation (s) and “t” values were calculated for the MBI subscale scores of police officers. The findings are discussed in the light of psychology and some recommendations are made
