DuPont Analysis of Automotive Companies Listed on Borsa Istanbul Between 2018 and 2023

Summary/Abstract: This study examines the financial performance of automotive sector companies listed on Borsa Istanbul between 2019 and 2023 using the DuPont analysis method. The DuPont analysis evaluates return on equity (ROE) through three key components—net profit margin, asset turnover, and financial leverage—providing a comprehensive understanding of a company’s profitability structure and performance. Financial data were obtained from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) and annual activity reports of the companies. The findings reveal significant performance disparities within the sector. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi A.Ş. and Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makineleri A.Ş. maintained their leadership positions in the sector due to high net profit margins and efficient asset management. Conversely, companies such as Anadolu Isuzu and Karsan lagged behind the industry average with lower profitability ratios. The study offers strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance in the automotive sector and contributes valuable insights to the existing literature.
