Summary/Abstract: This study aims to discuss the concepts of efficiency and productivity in the white goods sector on a theoretical level and to discuss the relationship between the financial determinants of the performance criteria in question within a conceptual framework. Rapidly changing consumer demands, energy efficiency expectations and technological transformation at the global level have increased the importance of efficiency and sustainable efficiency in resource use in the white goods industry as well as in manufacturing sectors. In the study, the production function and efficiency and productivity indicators developed depending on this function are theoretically addressed; concepts such as technical efficiency, scale efficiency and allocation efficiency are explained. In addition, parametric and nonparametric methods used in efficiency and productivity measurement are evaluated; especially the theoretical foundations of tools such as Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index are examined. Theoretical relationships between financial ratios and firm efficiency are also examined in the study. The potential effects of profitability, liquidity, leverage and activity ratios on firm efficiency are expressed. In this context, it is discussed which financial indicators firms in the white goods sector should focus on theoretically in order to both increase their internal efficiency and develop strategic resistance against external competitive pressures.
