Summary/Abstract: Our study aims to examine the effect of swimming on digital addiction and happiness levels among children aged 12- 15 years. The study sample consisted of a total of 80 participants, 40 males and 40 females between the ages of 12- 15, who were engaged in swimming at public and private swimming clubs in Kocaeli province. Swimming training was applied to the participants for one hour per session ,two days a week, for a duration of 12 weeks. Before (Pre-Training: PT) and after (Post-Training: PoT) the swimming training sessions, the participants were administered the Digital Addiction Scale developed by Arslan et al. (2015) and the Happiness Scale developed by Demirci and Ekşi (2018). The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package program. The analysis revealed that there is a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results in the sub-dimensions of digital addiction, gaming, social media and daily life impact (p< 0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between the PT (YAÖ) and PoT (YAS) test results in children’s digital addiction levels in terms of daily life impact, gaming, and social media (p < 0.05). This situation indicates that swimming has positive effects on children by reducing digital addiction and increasing happiness levels.
