Summary/Abstract: Radovan Tunguz Perović Nevesinjski represents a man of unusual life and literary destiny. He tried various genres, but according to his true vocation and true measure of creative gift, he was primarily a storyteller. Despite the fact that he can be found in numerous encyclopedias and literary lexicons, often in the wrong way – under the secondary surname Perović, derived from his father’s name, and although he is worthily critically valued, at least for a part of his oeuvre, he is still an almost forgotten writer today. In addition, he is a largely unread creator, since a significant part of his prose was published only in periodicals and never collected in books, thus remaining beyond the reach of recent Serbian literary criticism. At his literary beginnings, after the publication of his first book of stories titled Gorštakinje [Female Mountain Dwellers], Nevesinjski was much praised and compared to Ćorović and Kočić, but in spite of this, if he remains unread, chances are that he will completely sink into the darkness of literary oblivion.
