Summary/Abstract: Oskar Tartaglia (1887-1950) was memeber of the young nationalist movement in the period 1904-1914, that aimed at the creation of a Yugoslav state. During World War I he was imprisoned by the Austro-Hungarian authorities. In the first Yugoslav state he was active as a journalist and writer. During World War II he was imprisoned by the Italians and later supported Tito's partisans. After 1945 he was soon disillusioned by the new communist authorities.
