Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of Joanna Bator’s concept of the “caring narrator,” which the writer presented during the “Łódź Lectures on Poetics”. The speaking persona created by the author of Gorzko, gorzko is understood as a shape-shifting figure, maneuvering not only between different narrative modes. Inspired, among others, by Michel Foucault’s idea of care and Carol Gilligan’s relational ethics, this narrator enables polyphony, empathy, and openness to otherness, becoming a tool for constructing emancipatory works. The text also highlights the complexity of the creative process in connection with psychoanalytic theories.
