Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze phrasemes from selected literary works by Derviš Sušić that contain stereotypical elements. The phrasemes used in the analysis were excerpted from twelve novels, four plays, and the short story collection Pobune (Rebellions). Stereotypes and prejudices are present in everyday communication, and people often use them to negatively characterize others. For this reason, researching the frequency and function of stereotypes in literary discourse is considered relevant, as it offers insight into the linguistic worldview of a particular author. This study seeks to determine the extent to which Derviš Sušić employs stereotypes in his linguistic expression and whether he is generally prone to stereotyping in his use of phrasemes, as well as in his overall language use. The analysis focuses on zoonym-based and gender-marked phrasemes that contain clearly expressed stereotypical components. Within the excerpted corpus, it was found that these two groups of phrasemes are the most prevalent.
