Summary/Abstract: As a result of the changes in the political order in Europe that began in the late 1980s, the understanding of the established historical framework for dealing with the consequences of the Second World War also changed. The reappraisal is dominated by questions that are presented as unresolved. However, the extent of the files that have contributed to determining the causes of suffering in the war still offers the opportunity to find new answers. In this context, the personality and work of SS Major Dr. Ernst Weinmann in Belgrade during the occupation of 1941–1945 are presented. This work aims to shed additional light on the role of the paramilitary and parapolice as well as regular military formations of the German Reich during the Second World War in Serbia and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, as well as on the policy of the German Reich as a national one.
