Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the Letters of St. Jerome of Stridon to identify and examine the autobiographical elements they contain. These elements refer to Jerome’s places of residence, the purposes of his travels, his education, and his knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. The Letters also portray Jerome as a staunch defender of orthodoxy, a fierce opponent of heresies, and an advocate for maintaining unity with Rome. Furthermore, the correspondence provides insights into the con- troversies in which Jerome was involved, arising not only from theological differences but also, at times, from his uncompromising and impetuous character.
