Summary/Abstract: The music-related vocabulary of the Old Belarusian language is a complicated and varied layer of words, which is due to the influence of both linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The given thematic group is characterised by close links with the current vocabulary and other thematic groups. It is characterised by a wide variety and the availability of numerous synonymous means of different origin for the denotation of the same concept. The words forming a part of the music-related vocabulary were not an unsystematic totality, but a well-ordered totality with unstable links, which reflected the system of the concepts about music, formed in minds of Old Belarusian language's native speakers. A lot of denominations are characterised by monosemantic, derivative inactivity and limitations of usage. It helps to make a reference to a variety of terms. A considerable part of the words discovered in the Old Belarusian language is used in the modern Belarusian literary language and is an integral part of musical terminology of the modern Belarusian language.
