Summary/Abstract: The Luncani Plateau (or Platform) is known as a geographical and ethnographic space that extends over the area of several villages belonging to the Boșorod commune. One of the most important localities located on the Luncani Platform is the village of Târsa. On the western edge of the settlement, during the supervision of the construction works of a house, in 2007, archaeological materials and the remains of some buildings were discovered. The purpose of this paper is to describe the contexts and objects identified on that occasion. The land is located in the place called Dealul Grosului, known in archaeological literature due to earlier research conducted by Constantin Daicoviciu. The locals we spoke to mentioned that, very close to the location of the new house, a monetary hoard consisting of silver coins and a tool deposit was discovered during the construction of the road. Over time, other objects of historical value have also been discovered in the same area. Near the area where the research was carried out in 2007, on another plot belonging to the same owner, an anthropic terrace was identified. Pieces of metal slag were discovered on the surface and around it, in molehill as well as in pits made by treasure hunters. From the nearby stream bed, the owners recovered a piece of raw iron. All these data indicate the presence of a blacksmith workshop at that place. During the works, we identified traces of two surface structures, destroyed by fire. In our opinion, the revealed structures complement with new information the archaeological discoveries from the middle of the 20th century. Next to the burnt traces of these structures, a large ceramic vessel was discovered, which in antiquity had been buried in the ground. We believe that the vessel was used for storing supplies or for other domestic activities, such as fermenting fruits or cereals for the production of alcoholic beverages. Even though few objects were discovered, the pieces are characteristic of the Dacian Kingdom era. They have enriched the collections of the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization in Deva, as well as the knowledge about the habitation of the Luncan Platform during that period.
