Summary/Abstract: Assessment in computer science and information technology education must go beyond knowledge testing to include the evaluation of practical skills and key competencies. This report examines a range of assessment methods aligned with modern educational standards and competency-based learning. It outlines strategies for measuring knowledge, skills, and competencies through both traditional and innovative tools, including written tests, practical assignments, digital quizzes, project-based evaluation, and rubrics. A key focus is placed on how a single task can be adapted to serve different assessment purposes depending on the learning objectives. The report also highlights the importance of using assessment results not only to inform students’ progress but also as a tool for teacher self-reflection and instructional improvement.
