Summary/Abstract: Țibău and Zimbroslava Mountains are two subunits of Maramureș Mountains, located between Cârlibaba Valley to the East, Șesuri Valley to the West, and Bistrița Aurie Valley to the South. On the summits of these mountainous areas, between 1,200–1,600 m, there are preserved a series of fortifications like trenches, machine-gun positions, individual fire positions, etc. These fortifications belong to Arpad Line, built between 1942–1944 by the Hungarian army under the Horthy regime to protect the eastern border of Hungary, on the summit of the Eastern Carpathians and Beskid Mountains through the Polish Plain. The present study aims at the inventory, evaluation, and analysis of these fortifications in order to their exploitation from a cultural-educational and tourist perspective.
