Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes four literary and thought works published in 2023 in Spain, all advocating for queer forms of cohabitation that diverge from traditional nuclear family forms. Specifically, it focuses on the autofiction novel Nosotras vinimos tarde (2023) by Elisa Coll, alongside three non-fiction texts from the essay collection O cento voando. Amores, alianzas e non-monogamias (2023). Drawing on a theoretical framework centered on transfeminist non-monogamies (Vasallo 2018, Núñez 2023) and family abolition (Lewis 2022, Hybris 2023), this article seeks to demonstrate how, despite Western society’s family-centrism and emphasis on monogamy–which often pains such lifestyles as impossible or doomed to fail–these narratives defy stigma and challenge the conventional promise of happiness (Ahmed 2019), validating alternative social structures based on equitable and horizontal care distribution.
