Summary/Abstract: The question of Belarusian women in poetry in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century seems an attractive object of study with respect to both East- and West-Belarusian poetry. In Western Belarus women's access to the public sphere seems inspired by the Belarusian idea. Within a period of 20 years the number of poets increased significantly, reaching several tens. Thus, women's poetry or the poetry of women may be viewed as a separate category, since it requires a thorough study from different perspectives, including the social and political ones.
