Summary/Abstract: This study examines how the theme of Resurrection light structures the theology and hymnography of St. John of Damascus. Far from treating light as a poetic embellishment, the Damascene presents it as the uncreated radiance through which Christ’s divine identity becomes manifest. Rooted in the Nicene confession that the Son is “light from light,” the Paschal mystery reveals the unity of Christ’s divinity and humanity in a single luminous act. The article explores how St. John integrates biblical motifs, patristic insights, and liturgical experience into a coherent vision in which light renews both the human person and the cosmos. Special attention is given to the Paschal canon, where hymnography transforms theology into communal encounter. In this perspective, the light of the Resurrection is not merely symbolic but functions as the center of Christian existence and the anticipation of the world’s final transfiguration.
